Theoretical bases of studying of a drama at school

The study of dramatic works in the school requires certain theoretical knowledge, which contributes to a deeper comprehension of literature. The article considers the features of drama as a kind of literature, the aspects important for its study in school are formulated. A short review of the texts included in the school curriculum is reviewed in general terms in the tradition of Russian drama. It is a question of the necessity of observing continuity in the study of dramatic works, which can be realized by referring to the general artistic principles of playwrights. When analyzing the plot-composition structure of the plays, it is proposed to pay special attention to the work with the concept of conflict and analysis of the organization of speech. An approximate scheme is given, according to which students are encouraged to consider the originality of the dramatic work; the availability of an analysis plan will help to form a clearer idea of the specifics of the dramatic kind of literature.
