Theoretical study of the concept «сompetence оf safe work» in additional professional education of oil and gas industry staff

The study is devoted to the problem of the need for additional professional education for employees of the oil and gas industry, in order to form their competence in safe work. This need is associated with the constant presence in this area of risky industrial elements, incl. associated with the «human factor». In this aspect, the article theoretically examines and substantiates such concepts as “competence”, “professional competence”, “labor safety”, a new term “competence of safe labor” is developed, formulated and substantiated. The presented and structured material of the article suggests that additional training for workers in the oil and gas sector as part of additional professional education will allow them to develop “safe work competencies”, which in the future will reflect the planned dynamics of reducing accidents in the industry under study.
