Theoretical and practical basis for investigation of newborn children abdication problem in the region

Main approaches to the understanding of the problem of mothers' abdication from newborn children are considered in the article. Statistic data on the children without parental care, abdicated children in the Russian Federation and the Republic of Marij El are presented. Factors promotion abdication from children are brought to light.
