Motivational theories and their application at Iranian high-tech enterprises

Motivation of staff and satisfaction of employees with their work are of great importance for achieving organizational goals and objectives. The consequences for companies that do not pay due attention to the motivation of their employees can be high employee turnover, burnout and depression of employees, low productivity and conflicts, which also affects the overall success of the organization. The article discusses theoretical and practical approaches to motivating employees of high-tech companies in Iran, which is pressured by the sanctions and restrictions from a number of Western states. According to the theoretical analysis today there is no a unified motivational theory that could be used for any organization, we point out different approaches and motivation tools, their complex combination and systematic implementation based an un objective of the organization, corporate strategy and culture, its operations and a number of other aspects. In the course of an empirical study it has been found that in addition to well-known motivational incentives (recognition and monetary benefits, fair labour compensation, worker friendly policy of the administration, career growth, good labour relations, social benefits, etc.), patriotism, adherence to certain political ideals and religious values, assurance in adequate choice of profession and field of activity are of great importance for Iranian specialists working in high-tech companies.
