Translation is a fairly complicated means of overcoming language barriers, which each translator has to overcome in his daily work. The author of the article highlights the concept of translation as a complex and multifaceted form of human activity caused by the social need to transfer information expressed in written or oral text in one language by its equivalent (adequate) text in another language. The author presents the scheme of translation process which has two stages of work. One stage is associated with comprehension of the information received in a foreign language, and the second stage is expression of this information in the native language. The author reveals the models of the translation process used in translation of speeches of politicians in Spain and gives the examples of speeches translated using these models of translation. Methodologically the article is based on the works of such authors as: Vinogradov V.S., Garbovsky N.K., Komissarov V.N., Nelyubin L.L., which on the basis of the existing curricula on theory and practice of translation give information about modern translation which is needed today more than ever before.
