Term as a cognitive phenomenon in the scientific discourse

The article deals with the issue of the definition of the term as a cognitive phenomenon reflecting a definite structure of the knowledge. There is revealed the specific character of the term, there are specified its characteristics: the term's boundaries and the basic qualities (systematic approach, independence of the context, accuracy and stylistic neutrality).
