The term "translation" and the problem of untranslatability

In this paper, from a linguistic point of view, the concept of the term "translation" is considered, as well as the problem of untranslatability of language equivalents of different nations. A number of definitions and interpretations of the term by leading linguists are given. The relevance of this paper is the need for further development of one of the most important aspects of the theory of translation - the problem of "untranslatability". Despite the fact that the problem of untranslatable in translation has been considered by many linguists, there is still no single universally recognized definition of this phenomenon.
