Terms denoting Darhan’s tools in Mongol languages

This article is devoted to the comparative studies of the terms applying to the darhan’s tools in Mongolian languages. Darhans had different tools and facilities to produce wares of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Terms with the meaning of tools are represented in general by pan-Mongol words. Besides, there are borrowings from the Chinese and Russian languages. As for the methods of formation of terminological vocabulary of Mongolian languages on metalworking, the most productive ways are considered to be lexical-semantic, morphological and syntactic ones. According to our observations, the most popular way of forming is affixal.
