A joint approximation of the differential scanning calorimetry and differential thermogravimetry curves by Gaussians is carried out. It is shown that this approximation allows us to determine the stages of thermal decomposition, to calculate the masses of the thermal destruction products and to match the products and the stages of thermal decomposition. It is determined that ammonium carbonate and bicarbonate thermolysis occurs in three stages with the successive elimination of water, carbon dioxide and ammonia. It is proved that ammonium bicarbonate is a more energy-intensive coolant than ammonium carbonate, but the latter supports the cooling process for longer intervals.
