Thermomechanicalstability of solid phase conversion front to two dimensoinal perturbations

Free access

The paper briefly reviews coupled models of solid phase transformations in deformed media. The problem of combustion wave stability in the solid phase is formulated for situations occurring at joining of materials and thermal treatment of a material with coating. The problem of combustion front stability to two-dimensional perturbations is studied with the method of small perturbations and in the approximation of a narrow reaction zone for plane strain and for plane stressed state. Overall equations that allow defining the domain of steady-state transformation modes at varying physical parameters of the model are given. Particular variants of the model solved analytically exactly are analyzed.
