The international events of 2019-2022 have changed the volumes and directions of domestic tourist flows in all regions of the Russian Federation. These changes have most affected the border areas, which, before the pandemic, had the highest rates of international tourist exchanges. One of these destinations is Primorsky Krai, located in the extreme southeast of Russia. The closure of state borders has reoriented the tourist flow to domestic destinations. Residents of the Far East have increased interest in stationary types of recreation on the coast of the Sea of Japan. The increase in the number of vacationers in the coastal zone of Primorsky Krai has led to an increase in the load on local tourist bases and holiday homes. Despite a significant number of short-term accommodation facilities for vacationers, they could not satisfy all the requests of recreants either in the summer of 2020 or in 2021. The situation is particularly tense in the coastal territories adjacent to major cities: Vladivostok and Nakhodka, which has the highest population density and good transport accessibility. The article analyzes the placement of recreation centers in the coastal territory of the south of Primorsky Krai, the most popular by vacationers, traveling locals and guests. The authors show density of distribution of coastal recreation centers on the territory of municipal districts and urban districts. According to the number of tourists served, Vladivostok City District, Nakhodka city District and Khasansky municipal district are distinguished. There are fewer vacationers on the coasts of Partizansky, Shkotovsky municipal districts, Artemovsky urban district, the cities of Bolshoy Kamen, Fokino. Studied: the ratio of classified to unclassified recreation centers, the degree of legality of the services provided on the beach territories of the region, the quality and attractiveness of coastal recreation for vacationers.
