This article discusses the features of testing in the process of teaching English at all levels of education. In our time, the system of ensuring pedagogical control is quite imperfect. The purpose of the article is to conduct a typology of testing, to determine the most effective forms of monitoring learning outcomes in the process of teaching English in junior and senior schools.
