Testing as a method of control in high school education process

The article focuses on the main composition principles for tests used in current and intermediate attestation in high school education process. Attention is given to the composition requirements of efficient tests as well as popular types of tests classification. Special account is taken of the control function in modern pedagogical science and of different approaches to making tests for current and intermediate control. As a consequence, the six basic forms of test tasks used by the English teachers at our department are outlined.
