Documenting Georgian gastronomic vocabulary is an important means of protecting its unique culinary heritage, preserving its cultural identity, and transmitting it to future generations. Vocabulary related to specific dishes, ingredients, cooking techniques, and traditional culinary practices contains valuable information about the historical, social, and cultural influences that have developed Georgian cuisine. By documenting these terms, future generations will be able to better understand their national culinary traditions and properly appreciate the cultural significance of Georgian gastronomy.

Gastronomic vocabulary is an essential component of the cultural heritage of a region, the documentation and preservation of which determines the constancy of culinary traditions.

Documenting gastronomic vocabulary ensures the prevention of the loss and disappearance of culinary practices. The transmission of traditional cooking methods, recipes and culinary customs from generation to generation is often oral, which is associated with the risk of their loss. Therefore, by documenting gastronomic vocabulary, one ensures the preservation and maintenance of valuable information in this field and its accessibility for future generations.

Documenting Georgian gastronomic vocabulary is a very valuable resource for culturological study and education (Topuria, 1963:161). Georgian gastronomic vocabulary is of great practical importance in terms of popularizing culinary tourism, which, in turn, determines the economic development of local communities and the preservation of cultural identity.

Documenting Georgian gastronomic vocabulary also facilitates dialogue between different communities and countries. When culinary terms and concepts are accurately documented and shared, they become a common language for cooks and travelers interested in culinary. Documenting the Georgian gastronomic vocabulary plays a crucial role in the revival and innovation of culinary traditions. It provides a basis for chefs, culinary entrepreneurs, and food lovers to explore traditional dishes, ingredients, and culinary techniques and reinterpret them innovatively.

With access to a documented gastronomic vocabulary, individuals can find inspiration from old culinary recipes and diversify the centuries-old traditions of Georgian gastronomy with new elements. As mentioned earlier, documenting and preserving Georgian gastronomic vocabulary is of great practical importance for preserving elements of Georgian cuisine, protecting its heritage, knowledge and traditions. By documenting unique terms, recipes and culinary practices, one can ensure the preservation of culinary traditions for future generations.

The collecting process of gastronomic material includes interviewing local people, participating in culinary events, and observing traditional cooking practices in order to record them. Methods for researching and collecting gastronomic vocabulary include ethnographic studies, which provide a comprehensive understanding of the cultural context covering the gastronomic vocabulary. Researchers observe local communities; participate in culinary activities, and record information that locals use regarding cuisine, ingredients, and culinary practices.

Collaboration with locals who are aware of culinary traditions is essential in terms of collecting specific gastronomic vocabulary.
