Learning a foreign language is gaining special relevance in connection with the integration of state into the world community. In this regard, there are increased requirements for the educational process and the development of innovative teaching methods that meet the requirements of the time. One of the important aspects of teaching a foreign language is listening as a type of speech activity. This article reflects the importance of the problem of improving listening methods at non-linguistic faculties of universities. The article describes the relevant aspects of the difficulty of the listening process, the essence and main characteristics of this type of educational process.
