Typology of the Mythological Representation of the Image of Umai and Samsin/Samshin Halmoni (삼신 할머니)

The article provides a comparative typological analysis of the mythological images of mother goddesses-patrons: the Kyrgyz Umai Ene (mother Umai) and the Korean Samsin khalmoni (grandmother Samsin/Samshin). Two similar images of patron spirits from the mythological pantheon of deities of both peoples are analyzed, and differences and similarities in their traditional culture are revealed. The relevance of the topic under study is related to the modern integration of cultures, including between the Kyrgyz and Korean peoples, who exhibit similarities in archaic phenomena. The method of typological analysis was used to achieve the goal of identifying the similarities and differences between these two images in the family traditions of the Kyrgyz and Korean peoples.
