Typology of non-modal parenthood

The article is devoted to non-modal parenthood - a category that includes various alternative types and practices of modern motherhood and fatherhood. Based on the analysis of thematic literary and official statistics, the author identifies a research problem, presents the definition of “non-modal parenting” concept and its typology. The parameters of differentiation are the family or marital structure, the reasons for the formation of parental status, parenting social practices, positive and negative parenting functional, demographic security, acceptability and demand. The study, on the one hand, systematizes the relevant research experience and offers new scientific knowledge, on the other hand, it is of an applied nature. This determines its relevance, novelty, and scientific and practical significance.
