Toponymic phraseological units verbalizing historical knowledge structures

The article deals with phraseological units with toponymic components verbalizing historical knowledge structures. In the article the classification of these phraseological units is carried out and their significance in the literary text is identified. The results of the research showed that toponymic phraseological units reflect the followings: a) political events of a particular historical period; b) events and notions related to economic or financial activities; c) events related to military clashes; d) significant historical figures; e) national traditions and customs; f) features of the national cuisine; g) knowledge about climate changes, natural disasters.
