Toponymic space and some specific aspects of its formation in the regional renaming

This article highlights the main approaches to the analysis of toponymic space as one of the fields of onomastic space. It discovers some algorithms of revealing the degree of intuitional reconstruction of regular toponymic space in the mass intercity renaming (based on urbanonyms of Sovetsk, Kaliningrad region and some other cities of West Germany and Central Russia). The article also considers the key reasons for renaming, such as direct or indirect ideological antonymy and actualisation. Special mention is given to the question of mass renomination dependence on the type of settlement in the relevant residential areas.
