Modern trade and economic cooperation between Russia and DPRK

The Treaty on Comprehensive Strategic Partnership which was signed between the Russian Federation and the DPRK on June 19, 2024, has laid a solid foundation for further strengthening our bilateral relations in all their aspects, including trade and economics. As a result, the volume of trade has been growing, the range of goods as well as the number of joint projects and events has been increasing, including the launch of a significant logistics project to build a bridge across the Tuman River, a number of strategically important documents were signed to expand partnership in various areas, including innovation. The article analyzes the current situation in bilateral economic cooperation, opportunities for expanding partnership between the Russian Federation and the DPRK in this area, considers the problems and ways for their solving.
