The author of the article analyzes the traditions of the drama of the absurd in M. Ravenhih’s play «Scenes from Family Life». Particular attention is paid to the dramatic convention and its implementation at different levels of the organization of the dramatic text. In the paper it is shown that the growing up of the hero is given through the prism of the aesthetics of the theater of the absurd.
