Increasing the level of professional competence of teaching staff, continuous improvement of their professional skills, disclosure of creative potential are in the strategic objectives of education development. The article discusses the problem of implementing the task by constructing a methodical work based on both traditional and innovative organization. It is noted that modern challenges affecting the activities of the secondary vocational education system contribute to the search for new directions for organizing the methodological work of teachers. Along with the traditional forms and directions of methodological work, the article, in particular, highlights: the organization of work with young teachers, the activities of network and expert communities, mentoring, project activities in the “project office” format. The fact is substantiated that the methodological activity of teachers, organized in the interaction of traditions and innovations, contributes to the continuous improvement of their qualifications, the improvement and development of mechanisms for managing the quality of vocational education.
