The article is devoted to the presentation of methodological approaches to the design of teacher education. It examines the ideas of K.D. Ushinsky, L.S. Vygotsky, V.A. Slastenin on the content and forms of teacher training. The possibilities of using anthropological and cultural-historical approaches to the design of modern pedagogical education are analyzed. Special attention is paid to modern approaches to the design of teacher education: personification and openness of the educational space of pedagogical universities.
