The tradition of “metaphysical personalism” in forming national self-awareness of younger generation in Russia

The article draws attention to the special importance of philosophy for the Russian person, his permeation with the interest of self-awareness, spiritual world, “the inner treasure of the spirit” (N. Ya. Danilevsky). At the same time, the current problem is that while there are metaphysical needs in society, there is no metaphysical soil. This contradiction clearly revealed the relevance of the task of forming an elementary philosophical culture in Russian national spirit. The author sees the cornerstones laid on the path to its solution in the works of the St. Petersburg philosopher N. P. Ilyin (1947-2023), primarily in his fundamental study “The Tragedy of Russian Philosophy”.
