The paper deals with the issue of clip thinking; it analyses the role of mass media in shaping clip thinking, and the idea of using media texts for creating critical and imaginative thinking. Teenagers’ clip thinking has appeared in the communication and information environment of the modern society abundant with different kinds of information that are not always useful for teenagers. However, the existing communication and information environment can be used for shaping critical and imaginative thinking. It is important to work with media texts; this encourages the teenagers’ ability to perceive, interpret and assess the information, and reduces the negative effect that the modern communication and information environment can produce on teenagers.
