The work examines the changes in onto-ecological attitudes during the stages of classical philosophy development. The specifics of human attitude to the nature during the periods of origin and formation of rationalistic and religious-teleological view of the world are disclosed. The article shows that with the increasing importance of anthropo-, science-centrism, with the prevalence of reason over feelings, with the separation of the being of the subject and the object, there is a distancing and destruction of the ontological unity of man and nature. The latter acts as a means of realizing human needs and goals, which leads to the assertion of ecophobic position in relation to natural nature. The significance of modern research in the field of environmental philosophy, focused on comprehension of onto-ecological practices of interaction between man and nature and restoration of ontological integrity with the world, is highlighted. It is emphasized that the prospects for the development of the topic consist in determining ways of reorienting human consciousness toward harmonious coexistence with nature.
