Marketing in Russia in the context of its transitional economy

The transitional character of the Russian economy has a significant impact upon the content and the results of marketing performance. Although some "typically Russian" evidences of this impact have been reflected in Russian marketing publications, there is a lack of research attempts exploring the mechanisms of this influence. The transitional character of the Russian economy influences marketing both directly (via its external environment) and indirectly (via its internal environment). The notion "transformation of an economy" includes in the meanwhile new meanings in the contemporary marketing: technological progress and marketing performance during the crisis, both are being influenced by the transitional character of the Russian economy.
