The study presents a theoretical review of the problem of intergenerational relationships in a family from a gender dimension. The author emphasizes the fact that loneliness and unwillingness to start a family these days with increasing frequency become a conscious choice of young women, which is determined by the changes of a modern society which led to the weakening of traditional family functions. It is necessary to analyze the regularities and trends of transgeneration of cognitive behavioral patterns of subjects of intergenerational relationships in a family leading to unwished women’s loneliness. The reason of the latter fact, just to name a few, is the wrong distribution of family roles in relationships between grandmother, mother and daughter. It is noted that there are theoretical grounds for development of a complex of methods and techniques in a work with single women based on the revealed regularities and trends, aimed at helping these women build relationships with men.
