Transcreation of titles in audiovisual translation (based on the animated series "Masha and the bear")

This paper focuses on the translation of titles of animated movies which play an important role in identifying the features of an audiovisual text. The translator faces such difficulty as the translation of the cultural and national components that have connotations that are unfamiliar to the foreign audience. The animated series "Masha and the Bear" and its translation into German was chosen as the object of the research. The research showed that in most cases the cultural and national component in the titles of the animated series episodes was neutralized.
