A relevant issue for contemporary Russian society is the analysis of the intergenerational transmission of culture. Within the framework of studying the process of transferring civic orientations, norms, social practices and social experiences, the use of frame theory is deemed interesting. The results of a specific case study carried out on a representative sample in the Astrakhan region (methods - polling and focus groups) are contained in this paper. The concept of American scientists N. Howe and W. Strauss was used to define generations. Homogeneity was observed in the value characteristics of the three generations - “Boomers" (56-75 years old), “X" (36-55 years old) and “Y" (18-35 years old). The identification and electoral frames are characterized. Substantive content of the civic identity, elections and voting frames has been clarified. Major vectors for further analysis of the continuity of civic culture from one generation to the next are described.
