Trans-generational tradition and fiduciary association

The article deals with the sociological problem of the cultural and symbolic elements of the kinship type of collectivity. T. Parsons emphasizes the two culturally symbolic elements of the kinship type of collectivity, which correspond to the parts played by “blood" and “law" as symbolic definitions of the kinship unit. The considered types of the social structure belong to a general type, which T. Parsons called a “fiduciary association".
