The aim of the work is to study the main platelet indices (PI) in blood of cross-bred pigs (Dyuroc×Yorkshir×Landras) in critical phases of early postnatal ontogenesis. The studies have established that PI, which are directly involved in the regulation of homeostasis, have their own characteristics in each of the critical phases of early postnatal ontogenesis. In this work, the levels and correlation with age of such indices as: platelets (PLT); thrombocrit (PCT); relative width of platelet distribution by volume, standard deviation (PDWs); platelet distribution width by volume, variation coefficient (PDWc); mean platelet volume (MPV), as well as the large platelet fraction index (P-LCC) and the level of giant platelets (P-LCR). Studies of P-LCC and P-LCR indices in human medicine indicate the significance of these indices in diagnostics of various physiological and pathological conditions. However, in veterinary science there is insufficient data on physiologically normal levels of these indices in different species, which indicates the need for further study of platelet hemostasis processes in animals, in particular, in pigs. The results of the study of PI of the functional blood system in female cross-bred pigs of different ages show that the qualitative and quantitative properties of platelets in the blood have a certain pattern, there are close relationships between them and with the age of the animals. A reliable correlation of all blood PI in early postnatal ontogenesis was noted. It was established that, in general, blood PI in crossbred pigs in the neonatal phase demonstrate the highest levels and then tend to decrease. The exception is the PLT indicator.
