The Buryats' Value System of Labor and Charity

The aim of the study is to reveal the universal categories of "Labor" and "Charity" through the peculiarity of the national perception of the world and the Buryat ethnos' value system. The intrinsic meaning of labor, wealth and charity is as relevant today as it was when the Buryats had a traditional way of life and were entering new historical eras. The study's scientific novelty lies in the fact that it reveals the humanistic orientation of labor and charitable activities, their socializing and integrating potential, and analyses a number of specific problems of the relationship between these two concepts. As a result of the study, the reasons and principles of the formation of labor motivation and charity are established, general – objective and subjective – conditions of the process of formation of an integral personality are considered. The multidimensionality of the implementation of labor and charity has been investigated in connection with social and cultural factors that determined their special role and place in the Buryat ethnic tradition.
