He article discusses factors influencing changes in the speech repertoire of speakers in the modern context, analyzing the existing problems of language preservation as well. The main difficulties faced by linguists and language scholars during language description work are described. The article examines factors that could contribute to the preservation of existing linguistic diversity. It emphasizes that the protection of vulnerable languages is vital for the preservation of cultural and linguistic heritage. Effective solutions to the language preservation problem require a comprehensive approach that includes active involvement of speakers themselves, reforms in the field of education, changes in language policy, digital integration, and initiatives aimed at changing language attitudes towards non-dominant languages.
