The issues of job placement of secondary vocational schools graduates, their employment according to the professions obtained at educational organizations, are extremely relevant to the economy of the region, the authorities, enterprises and young people themselves. To verify the reliability of official data, reports of educational organizations on the rate of employment of graduates and efficiency of employment service, we conducted a sample survey of the conformity (inconsistency) of the professions (specialties) indicated in graduates’ diplomas to those offered by the employment centers of the Sverdlovsk region. The sample covered 43 employment centers of the region, in which documents of 1441 persons who applied for help in employment were examined. The obtained results show that less than half of those, who graduated from vocational schools in the Sverdlovsk region after 2013, got jobs according to their profession (specialty) (39,8%). In conclusion, recommendations to government bodies, enterprises and educational organizations of the region, as well as to students planning to work by their specialty are given.
