Buryatia tourist clusters as an example of cooperation between business and government. Evaluation of their effectiveness

The current economic and political situation in Russia in recent years has opened great opportunities for the development of tourism. The result of such factors as weakening of rouble exchange rate to other world currency rates, the rise of the foreign holiday destination for the Russian tourists, the decline in real incomes of the population, political instability in the world is as follows: more Russian people now prefer domestic tourism. This is the industry which can offer new investment challenges, while other sectors, such as industry, annually have to reduce the volume of the investment. In 2011 the President V. Putin approved the “Development of Domestic and Inbound Tourism in the Russian Federation (2011-2018)” Federal Target Program. One of the purposeful events of the programme is creation of a tourist clusters based on the interaction of the State and private business. In this article the author analyzes the current state of cluster development in the Republic of Buryatia.
