Tourism of special interests in regional conceptions (the case of Russian Azov Sea coast)

The article considers the interpretation and directions of specialized types of tourism for the intra-regional tourism development. The purpose of the article is to identify the development vectors of specialized types of tourism based on a comprehensive assessment of the tourist and recreational potential of the regions in our country in case of the Russian Azov region. There are given the stages of research of specialized types of tourism. The author formulates fundamental evaluation categories to analyze the possibilities of developing specialized types of tourism. The article describes the vectors of special interest tourism and directions of their implementation in case of the Russian Azov region. Research results include eight vectors of specialized types of tourism identified for the Russian Azov region. Based on a comprehensive assessment of the tourist and recreational potential in the Russian Azov region, today it is advisable to develop programs for educational, event, business, sports, rural, ecological, cruise and health-improving types of tourism. According to the geographical location and similar natural conditions in some municipal areas of the Russian Azov region, author recommends to develop programs of intraregional interaction by types of tourism of special interests and create joint tourism products to diversify the directions of regional tourist positioning. The creation of joint integrated tourism projects based on tourism of special interests will increase interest in regional destinations within the framework of weekend tours for local residents and tourists from adjacent territories.
