This article deals with the problems associated with the creative personality of outstanding opera singers in the context of the national mass music culture of the 20-40th of the twentieth century. The text of the article provides a theoretical justification of ideas about the creative individuality of the individual, talent and genius on the examples of the performance of F. I. Shalyapin, L. V. Sobinov and A. V. Nezhdanova, who worked closely together on the Opera stage of the Bolshoi Theater. Their established ensemble called “triumvirate” was already headed by the “Golden age” of the Russian vocal school on the eve of the October revolution. Their performance became an outstanding example of excellence, having a strong influence not only on the next generation of such outstanding opera singers as S. Ya. Lemeshev, N. O. Obukhova, E. K. Katulskaya, but also on the entire mass domestic musical culture of the XX-XXI centuries.
