Writer's creativity and folklore in the aspect of general Russian and regional traditions

There are studied the problems of regional literature, regional folklore, correlation of folklore and literature, interaction of regional and general Russian folklore elements in the literary texts in the A.P.Chekhov's works. Regional theme is presented by the motives and images of the South. They consist of Southern Russian, Cossack and Ukrainian folklore traditions.
