Creativity in the Old Russian musical-written art traditions in the Ural spiritual culture

The Old Believers preserved the Old Russian musical-written art (Znamenny Chant) after the XVII century; it promoted its expansion from the professional functioning, extension and democratization of the existing environment of the chant books that led to the widespread copying of these records. The article shows that some aspects of the script as well as the structure and content of records are closely connected with the chant-performing practice historically developed in some agreement and with the change of the ideology and Old Believers' culture. The Old Believers' "hook chanting" traditions are expressed in the creation of new works in the Old Russian art and in different musical-theoretical researches.
