The present article deals with the peculiarities of communicative interaction between the characters of Truman Capote’s short-story «Kindred Spirits». The main emphasis is concentrated on the nonverbal elements of dialogue. The analysis of the problem shows that the acoustic and light images dominate over the verbal speech of characters and form the semantic content of dialogue.
