Today, the involvement of the volunteer community in socially significant activities in the field of protection and protection of cultural heritage sites is a fairly common practice of foreign non profit organizations. The article contains an overview of the participation of volunteers in the work of specialized monuments organizations in the UK (English Heritage, the National Trust for Scotland, the Historic Royal Palaces Foundation, the Church Preservation Foundation, etc.), which, in turn, consider volunteers in as a key asset for the implementation of its own projects and programs in the field of preservation of cultural heritage sites and the historical urban environment.
