Scientists and epistemologists on the phenomenon of the convention

The article aims to analyse scientists and epistemologists' understanding of the conventions' constructive role in the scientific and educational activity. In nature sciences the statement of facts and the construction of the conceptional and theoretic scheme in which they are included, is connected with certain subjective decisions reflected in the agreement regarding some conceptional positions. The emperical criteria of reality are not applied to the agreements themselves; they are determined by the consideration of the comfort, simplicity, esthetic perfection and so on.
