The article is dedicated to the anniversary of Mikhail Viktorovich Boguslavsky, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Education, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Chairman of the Scientific Council on the History of Education and Pedagogical Science at the Department of Philosophy of Education and Theoretical Pedagogy of the Russian Academy of Education. Boguslavsky is an outstanding researcher, analyst, and interpreter of the Russian pedagogical heritage. In the genre of reflection on a 40-year period of relationship with Mikhail Viktorovich, the author presents his personal perception of him as a friend, mentor, and leader of the historical and pedagogical community of researchers.
