Kuzbass coal industry and ESG - principles

On the basis of statistical, financial, economic and production indicators an overview of the prevailing trends in the development of coal enterprises in the region is presented. Influence of ESG principles assumes transition to clean technologies of coal mining and processing, which stipulates the need for a significant volume of investments in the implementation of measures related to infrastructure development, digitalization, innovative developments. The impact of the crisis of recent years has led to negative financial results of even the flagship enterprises of the industry, which significantly reduces the possibility of financing capital investments at the expense of own funds and requires active participation of the state in solving many problems of the industry.
