Resume: the article provides a criminal-legal analysis of crimes against public security related to the intimidation of the population and influencing decision-making by the authorities, as well as the development of proposals for improving the criminal legislation providing for liability for these crimes and the practice of its application. The article considers the need to amend article 205 of The criminal code of the Russian Federation.
