Rootedness as an aspect of the analysis of regional identity (based on the materials of a sociological study)

The article reveals the study of regional identity in comparison with the general civil one through the prism of rootedness. This concept allows assessing the impact of personal and family ties with the region and the regional community on the local self-identification of residents of a particular territory. The results of a sociological study conducted in four neighboring southern regions - Astrakhan and Volgograd regions, the Republic of Kalmykia and the Republic of Dagestan are described. The answers of respondents from these subjects of the Russian Federation to questions about regional and civil identity are analyzed. The dependence with indicators of local and family rootedness was revealed. The results and conclusions presented in the publication will be of interest to a wide range of readers - specialists dealing with problems of regional and state development, representatives of government and public organizations, as well as directly residents of the designated regions.
