Sonography and scintigraphy in diagnostics of various focal lesions of the thyroid

The work is devoted to the modern status of diagnostics of focal lesions of the thyroid: epidemiology, classifications, structure of nodular lesions, probable risk factors, etiology, interconnection between benign and malignant tumors. The echosemiotics of various thyroid diseases is described in detail. The potential of scintigraphy, fine-needle biopsy is discussed. The main attention is devoted to the thyroid cancer.
