The article is devoted to the study of the features of the competitiveness of food industry enterprises in modern conditions, characterized by global market instability. The objects of scientific research are food industry enterprises. The purpose of the work is to propose directions for the development of the competitiveness of food industry enterprises. The article uses as scientific research methods: analysis; synthesis; induction; deduction; generalization. The result of the work is the proposed parallel-sequential approach to managing competitive potential at all levels of management, which makes it possible to identify the main directions for the development of not only food industry enterprises, but the industry as a whole. The scope of the results lies in the fact that the article, along with other works, expands the scientific field of research related to the activities of food industry enterprises. As a result of the study, conclusions were drawn about the need for structural elements to ensure the effectiveness of the competitive potential management policy aimed at developing programs for the competitive development of industries and types of economic activity.
