The article is devoted to the problem of managing the process of advanced training, and accordingly, increasing the level of professional competence of teaching staff in the context of an institution of secondary vocational education, in particular, a pedagogical college. Based on the results of a general analysis of scientific sources and regulatory documents on this issue, the author substantiates the relevance of the problem under consideration, concluding that the management of the process of advanced training of teachers should be systematic and targeted. In this regard, the work reveals the mechanism for managing the process of advanced training of teachers of an educational institution, considers its stages and content. Based on the need to implement modern technologies in the process of advanced training of teachers, the author reveals the conditions and mechanisms for increasing the level of professional competence of teachers. Modern directions of advanced training of specialists of secondary vocational education institutions are based on the implementation of a number of principles, such as affiliative, axiological, participatory, disclosed in the article. The author also highlights the directions of advanced training of teachers of secondary vocational education institutions, the implementation of which will increase the level of their professional competence. An important condition for advanced trai-ning, according to the author, is the formation of motivational, cognitive, orientational, operational, emotional-volitional and evaluative components. Summing up the work, the author comes to the conclusion that managing the process of advanced training of specialists of a pedagogical college is an integral part of continuous education, and its effectiveness allows creating favorable conditions for advanced training of specialists.
